All terrain strollers are a great option for those who enjoy running, hiking on rocky trails or strolling through parks with grassy areas. You'll require big, durable tires paired with suspension that can handle the tumultuous terrain.

All terrain strollers can help you instill a love of nature in your child. We evaluate the ease of use and maneuverability as well as the ability to access the basket to engage brakes, insert and remove the infant seat (where it is needed).

The Best Overall Stroller

If you intend to utilize a stroller for transporting your child for many years it must be more than just a means of getting them from A to B. Strollers grow faster than rabbits. Investing in a stroller that can handle your family's entire outings is a wise choice.

Nuna MIXX Next is a multi-purpose stroller that can do it all. It's easy to store, folds compactly and is able to glide smoothly over sidewalks as well as cobblestones, grass, and. The lightweight PIPA Urbn car seat is also available as part of a set for a complete travel solution. The price is higher than our other choices, however our testers said it was worth the cost because it's sturdy and able to handle even the most strenuous excursions.

If you're looking for a stroller that's light but can handle more rugged terrain, look for three-wheelers. The Thule Shine was a past winner in this category. It's a bit more costly than our other choices, but it's a solid product and has many features (car seat compatible! dual cup holders!) that make it a worthwhile investment. It folds down small enough to fit into the overhead bins of airplanes making it an ideal option for families who frequently travel.

Senior Review Editor Wendy Schmitz has been reviewing strollers and other baby equipment for more than two years. She and our team of product testers push, run the strollers, fold and lift each stroller to assess its quality, comfort and performance. All of them are mothers and are aware of the importance of having a reliable stroller for everyday use and family outings. This year, we increased our test pool to include five stroller and parenting experts: Lisa Trofe, executive director of the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association; Kyleyn Gosewisch, customer care specialist at strolleria, a retail store focused on strollers; Marielle Marquez, pediatric occupational therapist; Holly Choi, cofounder and co-owner of Safe Beginnings First Aid, an organization that offers child safety tools; and Sarah Huff, senior manager of community and customer relations at BabyQuip, the stroller and baby equipment rental business.

The BOB Sport Utility

The BOB Sport utility is a great stroller to use when you want to get off the beaten path and get some exercise. This jogging stroller features pneumatic knobby tires that are perfect for trail runs and a hand brake that lets you manage the downhills. It also features a state-of the-art suspension system, a two-step folding, and a huge cargo basket. If you purchase the right adapters you can use it with an infant car seat.

The main drawback of this jogging stroller is its weight and size when folded. It weighs 25 pounds and folds down to 17,850 cubic inches which is the average for this class. Its size means it's not ideal for tight turns or narrow trunk spaces, though it has a handle on the rear of the basket that you can pull to collapse it into a compact, flat position.

This stroller is easy to maneuver, despite its size. The front wheel comes with a locking mechanism, which allows you to switch from normal to locked running mode. The handlebar can be adjusted for different heights of parents. It has a large seat that can be reclined to almost flat, as well as an enormous vinyl peekaboo window.

Another big plus is the Sport Utility's impressive quality, which earned it a 9 of 10 in this measure. It has a thick frame made of aluminum, with tight connections, smooth edges and no sloppy stitching. It also has adjustable dampers, which help with the smoothness of the rolling.

The Sport Utility stroller, like the other BOBs we've reviewed includes adapters for car seats that are optional. This lets you use it with various car seats for infants. In our tests, it took us about 5:24 hours to put together the stroller from unpacking it before it was ready to go. The assembly was simple however, you'll require a Philips screwdriver. The manual included is easy to follow and well-organized, however it's recommended to keep one in your case.

The Baby Trend Expedition

This jogger has been built with safety, fashion and convenience as its main goals. It has an adult tray with two cup holders and covered storage, and an infant tray that can be swung away and has two cup holders. The adjustable canopy, with its peek-aboo windows and an extra-wide ergonomically-shaped handle, offer comfort to both parents. The front wheel lockable can be unlocked while strolling, and locked for jogging. The large storage basket is perfect to store the essential travel items.

In the Strollers test program at Consumer Reports, the Baby Trend Expedition Jogger does well overall for the price, and gets higher marks over its rivals in various categories. The 5-point harness that folds, unfolds, adjusting backrest, braking the wheel and infant car seat installation and removal (only compatible models) are all included. It's a basic design and a one-handed recline that's deep enough for napping. However the canopy cover that ratchets isn't easy to keep in place. It also takes almost 8 minutes to set up and the instructions are confusing with multiple languages mixed together and difficult-to-read illustrations.

The only negative about this jogger is that it does not have suspension, so the ride may be bumpier than the other hauck Uptown all-terrain pushchair - Melange Rose strollers we've tested. This could make it difficult for children with small hands particularly when their nap is set to begin. The air-filled wheels are nice however they don't offer as much cushioning as the rubber tires found on more expensive strollers.

This is a great choice for those who don't want to run a lot, but want to move over gravel and grass easily and without problems with curbs, or other obstacles. It's an excellent choice for families with a limited space, as it folds down into a compact unit. It's lighter than a lot of the other strollers we've tested and can fit in places where some large strollers aren't able to.

It is also easier to lift and move than the heavier joggers we've test. This is particularly crucial if you need to lift it in and out of the trunk of your vehicle on a regular basis or if you're constantly on the go.

The Nipper Sport V4

If you're looking for the top jogger for all terrain, then take a look at the Nipper Sport V4. The latest version of Out 'n' About's 3-wheeled jogging stroller is designed specifically for jogging and comes with big 16 pneumatic alloy tyres that can handle even the most difficult paths and tracks. The Nipper is also light and compact, making it simple to fold and move.

This pushchair comes with a handlebar as well as front suspension, making it suitable for all terrains. It also has a recline seat that can be adjusted in multiple positions and a removable quilted seat liner as well as the five-point safety harness and a hinged bumper bar. It is also compatible with travel systems, so you can use it with a Cybex Maxi-Cosi and Be-Safe baby car seat.

Another great characteristic of this buggy is the large front wheel, which helps to ensure an easy ride for your child. This is particularly important when tackling difficult terrain, as it allows the buggy to better track and glide more easily over dips and bumps. In addition the Nipper Sport is also very easy to drive. The handlebar has an ergonomic design and a single-pedal easy-lock brake that can be adjusted to suit your needs. The buggy folds effortlessly, thanks to clear instructions and illustrations in the user's manual.

The Nipper Sport is designed for children aged up to six months. It can also be used by a baby due to the integrated insert. However, it is not recommended for use with infants younger than six months, as the seat's harness isn't strong enough to keep them.

The pushchair doesn't have a storage basket underneath the seat. The small shopping bag at the rear of the seat isn't large enough to accommodate a larger changing bag. It is extremely easy to open and close, with just two hands needed to release the plastic catches on either side of the lower frame. There is a second lock catch on the handlebar in red that can be loosened by one hand, making it extremely convenient to use.
